Size-If the size of the display is bigger, then we can watch and do our task comfortably but the bigger size is vulnerable to break and may be difficult to keep in pocket or operate one handed.

 The size of display is measured in inch e.g.-5inch, 6 inch etc. Todays 6-6.5-inch display size is recommendable for better view, safety and handle.

Display technology-

LCD-liquid crystal display in short LCD is a display technology in where a back-light is used to lighten up the pixel of the display.

TFT LCD- Thin film transistor in short “TFT” LCD is an upgraded technology of LCD. Here each pixel is attached to a transistor and capacitor individually.

IPS-LCD- In plane switching liquid crystal display in short “IPS LCD” is an upgraded   TFT-LCD display technology. It has wider viewing angle and less power consumption than TFT LCD.

So, it is better than TFT LCD.

AMOLED- Active-matrix light emitting diode in short AMOLED display has separate light for each pixel. It can illuminate itself and doesn’t require extra light. Each pixel has separate diode to control the pixels turned on and off. In the black part of a scene, the pixel is totally remains shut off.  And thus, user can able to see the pure black.

It is better than IPS LCD if user consider brighter, deeper dark, vibrant colour, slim size display and less power consumption. And even it has wider viewing angle too.

SUPER AMOLED- It is the upgraded technology of AMOLED display. Only the touch feature is integrated with the screen, no separate touch layer is available here like AMOLED does. Otherwise, it is same as AMOLED in individual pixel lightening.

It is better than AMOLED.


It is the measure of the actual visible area of the display on the front side. It is measured in percentage. Higher the percentage maximum will be the visible display area.

   PIXEL-The display of a smartphone is combination of many tiny dots or square. This individual dot is known as pixel. When there is more pixel, then we can expect a smoother image.

 Aspect ratio-It is the actual width and height of a display and displaying image, video. The ratio expressed in the form width: Hight. If it says Aspect ratio is 16:9 then the width is 16*x and height is 9*x.

Resolution- It means the physical size of screen and the pixel quantity it has.  It indicates how clean and sharp image the screen can display. Higher number

of resolutions has a better vision. The thickness of pixel also affects the view of display. Thickness of pixel is measured in ppi (pixel per inch). Higher the pixel thickness(PPI number) better view.

 Some resolution type like 1280*720(HD), 1920*1080(Full HD) used in recent smart phone.  If the resolution is 1920*1080, it means the pixel number of the display in horizontally is 1920 and vertically 1080 all total 20,73,600. If the display size is 5 inch with a resolution of 1920*1080 then the thickness of pixel PPI will be 440 approx.

Protection- If it says display protection then we can consider two things, one is protection against the scratch on screen and secondly protection against breaking.

     For scratch protection there is in use of Gorilla glass protection. this glass is tough than a normal glass so it can protect scratch. There are different upgraded gorilla glass like gorilla glass 2,3 etc.

      For breaking protection extra glass is used on the screen.

Refresh rate: -It is the count of image that can show on a display per second. It is measured in Hz (Hertz). If it says the display refresh rate 60 Hz then it means the display can show 60 different images in a second.

        The higher in number of refresh rate, faster and better will be the video or displaying of an image.

Touch sampling rate: – It is the sensitivity of the touch, how fast the touch screen executes user touch commands. It is measured in Hz. If it says it is 60 Hz then it means the touch panel can sense, process and execute 60 commands per minute.

 Higher the Touch sampling rate faster will be the execution.

2-Higher rate helps faster scrolling smoothly.2-Higher rate helps in response faster.

4-higher rate mainly fasten scrolling and thus helps in gaming too.4- Mostly important in gaming because a millisecond delay in input read may decide loss and win.

Brightness: – It is the amount of light that a display emits. It is measured in nits (or candela, lumen etc.). Usually, a display with 200 nits brightness visible in indoor but will not visible in sunlight. To view in sunlight more than 300 nits is preferable. Higher the nit amount brighter will be the display.

NTSC:- It is a standard of colour accuracy. It is expressed in percentage. Higher the percentage better the colour will be.
